Redbank Motorway Estate sits adjacent to Ipswich Motorway, south-west of Brisbane’s CBD. Spanning 66,000 sqm, Coles Group’s ADC has the capacity to process up to four million cases per week and hold up to 18,000 ambient products.

Redbank’s strategic, highly connected location provides easy access to Brisbane’s urban centre – enabling Coles to reach 2.4 million people within 60 minutes and service 200 plus stores across Queensland and Northern NSW.

Tech-ready facilities for more efficient operations

Goodman’s focus on cutting-edge technology unlocked tools for Coles to automate its operations. Coles’ Redbank ADC is powered by WITRON, a leading German automated distribution technology. It is the first of two WITRON-enabled facilities in Australia, with the second located in Coles’ Kemps Creek facility in NSW, representing a historic $1 billion capital investment by Coles Group. This technology has yielded faster operations for Coles, with the facility receiving around 5,000 pallets a day, equivalent to 175 truckloads of goods. At full capacity, the ADC processes up to 4 million cases of goods a week.

Automation allows the ADC to process double the number of cases and hold twice the pallets, while also saving one-third on operational costs compared to existing distribution centres. By modernising its operation, Coles has sought to improve efficiency and availability in stores, benefiting customers, team members and suppliers.

 

A focus on future-forward design

Alongside a strategic location that cuts travel times and reduces transport-related emissions, the ADC features sensor-enabled LED lighting to reduce energy consumption alongside 180,000 litres of rainwater storage, drought-resistant native landscaping, solar hot water systems and EV charging units.
