The future

The transition to electric transport is underway.

Worldwide, the cost of batteries is coming down, over 600 zero-emission models are on track for launch by 2025, and governments are setting mandates. Nearly half of all new vehicles sold in 2040 will be electric.

But electric vehicles need plug points, and those plug-in points must be embedded into the built environment. The World Economic Forum estimates that we need around 290 million charging points globally by 2040, at a cost of nearly $500 billion.

Goodman recognises our role in preparing our estates and customers for an EV future. We are supporting the switch to EVs in four key ways:
