Sydney’s city-edge suburb of Alexandria has become a place where the city’s industrial past and its contemporary future intersect. But until recently, little has encouraged visitors to contemplate the area’s much longer history.
A mural on Goodman’s Southend Lane development is changing that. Wrapping around two walls of this boutique warehousing project, the 50m long, 12m-high artwork¬ titled Route Canal was created by Koori artist and Archibald Prize winner Blak Douglas.
