The artist – Patrizia Biondi
Patrizia is a multi-disciplinary visual artist working predominantly with salvaged resources.
Her creative processes involve the labour-intensive transmutation of recovered materials such as cardboard, paper, plastic and ornamental ceramics, by cleaning, treating, painting, cutting, sanding, smoothing, assembling, constructing and varnishing the salvaged parts. By recovering resources that were discarded as useless and transforming them into beautiful art objects that are collectible, therefore they are given significance, Patrizia questions how we assign value.
Patrizia grew up in Italy and holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts with Honours, from the University of Sydney, Australia
