Raise

Foundation

The difference a mentor can make to a young person is significant.

Raise Foundation consistently see an improvement in four key outcome areas; asking for help, hope for the future, resilience and school belonging. Raise have been measuring their impact since 2008 and find that every year mentees enjoy the program, feel safe and supported and most importantly that they are helped with the four key outcomes. Its effectiveness is why the Goodman Foundation is a long-term partner of the Raise Foundation.

Raise’s mentoring program in high schools is good for both the mentees and the trusted mentors who show up for them. Raise’s aspiration is to deliver its community-building programs across Australia, prioritising younger students in public secondary schools who are at most risk of disengagement or poor wellbeing.

Goodman’s three-year funding commitment will help Raise roll this out and reach almost 800 more young people than it otherwise could. In addition to the funding, Goodman people volunteer as mentors, reporting that they too benefit from the mentoring experience.
