Goodman secures 28 new customer commitments at Sydney Corporate Park in Alexandria

Tuesday, 22 September 2015

Goodman Group (Goodman or Group) is pleased to announce it has secured 28 new customer commitments totalling 28,074 sqm at Sydney Corporate Park this calendar year. The leasing success achieved demonstrates the strong demand for high quality business space in Alexandria and Sydney Corporate Park’s growing reputation as a destination of choice, catering for a range of customer uses.

The customers committing to new space include:
  • Red Bull
  • Recall
  • National Bowling and Recreation
  • Bras N Things
  • Ideal Air
  • Harvey Norman
  • Samios Plumbing Supplies

Goodman General Manager, Australia, Jason Little said: “We are pleased to welcome so many new customers and such quality brands to Sydney Corporate Park and the Goodman portfolio. Our commitment to making Sydney Corporate Park one of Alexandria’s premier estates is evidenced by this strong customer demand. The Park’s unique mixed-use offering of quality office space and functional warehouse space, together with a number of diverse entertainment and retail facilities, makes this a destination of choice for businesses wishing to locate in Alexandria.”

To date this calendar year, Goodman has secured office space leases from 18 new customers, totalling 8,864 sqm. These include a ten year commitment to Recall for 2,036 sqm in the newly refurbished 170-180 Bourke Road office building. Recall has relocated their Australian head office to these new premises and join Breville who leased 4,309 sqm in late 2014.

Separately, Retailer Bras N Things has committed to 1,064 sqm, with an eight year lease term for their head office and Red Bull has leased 3,114 sqm in the newly refurbished 55 Doody Street building on a five year lease term.

Red Bull’s Managing Director, Jason Sargent said “We are excited to relocate Red Bull’s Australian head office to these new customised premises on Doody Street. We were impressed with the quality of the estate and Sydney Corporate Park offers our employees access to an outstanding level of on-site and surrounding amenity.”

Jason Little continued: “We have also been able to accommodate two new leisure and entertainment customers within former traditional warehouse buildings at the estate, by adapting the buildings to suit these customers’ individual requirements.”

National Bowling and Recreation have signed a ten year lease for 2,269 sqm of warehouse space at 55 Doody Street, for “Attractivity Entertainment”, Australia’s first entertainment centre which combines a variety of leading technology attractions including bowling, rope climbing and amusements within one facility. Similarly, 9 degrees boulder gym has signed a five year lease for 840 sqm, to accommodate Sydney’s latest indoor boulder climbing gym, an innovative new version of rock climbing.

Goodman has also experienced solid customer demand for sub-1,500 sqm warehouse and distribution space, given the Park’s strategic location and proximity to Port Botany and Sydney Airport. Building 1 at 85 O’Riordan Street has been divided into three tenancies and leased by Ideal Air, Samios Plumbing Supplies and Harvey Norman. All three customers will use the space to service their warehousing and distribution requirements, with Ideal Air also establishing their Australian head office at the premises.

Since the acquisition of Sydney Corporate Park in December 2013, Goodman has made a number of improvements at the estate, including the refurbishment of buildings, upgraded landscaping and the introduction of new estate and wayfinding signage. A dedicated Goodman Property team is located on-site to manage the estate and provide responsive and efficient customer service.
