Goodman’s General Manager Australia, Jason Little said: “We are pleased to be extending our relationship with both TNT and Beaumont Tiles into the Queensland market. These new developments demonstrate our continued commitment to servicing our customer base and ongoing focus on securing quality development opportunities in the highly sought after Brisbane market.”
TNT has committed to a new 27,775 sqm regional head office and distribution facility on 7.8 ha of land, with a 15 year lease term at Redbank Motorway Estate in Brisbane’s south west. The deal is one of the largest industrial pre-commitments in Brisbane this year, with the new facility comprising a 26,100 sqm warehouse with multiple loading docks and 1,353 sqm of associated office space. The new development which will complete in August 2015, provides full drive around capability, together with a large hardstand area.
Already a Goodman customer at several properties in Sydney, TNT selected Redbank Motorway Estate due to its proximity to Brisbane’s major arterial road network and the ensuing ease of access to the greater metropolitan area for its express freight delivery service.
Curtis Berry, TNT Director of Networks and Infrastructure said: “TNT undertook an extensive and detailed analysis of suitable locations for our new regional headquarters in Queensland. We selected Goodman’s Redbank Motorway Estate due to its strategic location, the estate infrastructure already in place and the proactive Ipswich Council. These factors, together with Goodman’s proven development capability made Goodman our preferred development partner.”
Redbank Motorway Estate is rapidly becoming one of Brisbane’s premier distribution hubs, with TNT joining contract logistics provider, DB Schenker and contract and long-haul logistics operator, Northline, who are existing customers at the Estate. Together these pre-commitments total more than 20 hectares of the 62 hectares of serviced land available for development at the Estate.
At Rochedale Motorway Estate, Goodman has secured its first pre-commitment with a 13,000 sqm distribution centre for ceramic tile and bathroom ware distributor, Beaumont. The 24 hectare Estate, which was acquired earlier this year in a joint venture with Brickworks, was chosen by Beaumont due to its proximity to the Port of Brisbane and resultant transport efficiencies for their retail distribution network. Beaumont is an existing customer of Goodman and has committed to a 12 year lease on the new distribution centre, which includes a 12,500 sqm warehouse, large 40 metre truck manoeuvring area and a 500 sqm office.
Mr Bob Beaumont, Managing Director of Beaumont Tiles said “Beaumont is growing rapidly Australia wide, requiring very efficient logistics hubs to maintain our focus on delivering high quality service to our customers. With the addition of this new facility, we have built an unparalleled national tile distribution network. This now extends from Adelaide to Melbourne and most recently Sydney, at Goodman’s Bungarribee Industrial Estate, allowing us to focus on delivering high levels of customer service.”
Strategically located adjacent to the Gateway Motorway, Rochedale Motorway Estate provides direct motorway access to the Port of Brisbane and is in close proximity to the traditional Brisbane industrial precincts of Acacia Ridge and Coopers Plains. The Beaumont Tiles facility is scheduled for completion in November 2015.
