Amazon Australia announces a new fulfilment centre at Goodman’s Port Industry Park in Brisbane

Thursday, 11 June 2020

Amazon Australia today announced it will expand its Australian operations, with the opening of its first Queensland fulfilment centre in Brisbane later this year. The new facility is located at Goodman’s Port Industry Park in Lytton, Brisbane and is set to begin operations before Christmas, enabling faster delivery to customers in Queensland.

At a press conference on site attended by The Premier of Queensland, Annastacia Palaszczuk, State Development Minister Kate Jones, Amazon Director of Operations Craig Fuller and Goodman’s General Manager for Queensland Daniel Brekan, Amazon said the new fulfilment centre will house more than half a million items from Amazon.com.au ranging from health, household and personal care products, to electronics, books, gardening equipment and pantry staples.

The Queensland fulfilment centre will sit on a combined site of over 4 hectares. Goodman is refurbishing an existing 16,300 sqm building and has acquired an adjacent property from the Queensland state government, to facilitate Amazon’s requirements.

Goodman has a long-standing relationship with Amazon around the world, having first built an e-commerce facility for the company back in 2006 in Germany. Since then, Goodman has expanded its relationship across multiple countries, including Australia where it facilitated Amazon’s entry in the Sydney market with the development of the company’s fulfilment centre in Moorebank.
