National Centre for Indigenous Excellence (NCIE)

NCIE was incorporated in 2010. Since opening they have involved over 20,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in their life-changing programs, community forums and local events at the NCIE Centre in Redfern. This large facility in Redfern provides opportunity for local children to excel at sports, culture and dance.

Goodman provides funding for an After School Program, the employment of their facility manager and the lease and running costs of their vans. We provide expertise in facilities planning, budgeting and maintenance plans.

Goodman has been an integral part of supporting Indigenous young people and creating positive social impact in Sydney's south through our long term support of NCIE in Redfern. We have funded the After School Program since it began in 2010 and now supports over 50 children each day, with modern computer and study facilities, complete with qualified teaching staff.  NCIE have just been awarded their Service Provider Approval from the Department of Education who are looking to profile the program.

In addition, Goodman also fund the employment of the NCIE facilities staff and have provided skilled expertise to assist in the management of the upkeep of the Redfern facility. This year our support was extended to also pay for two vans to allow the Centre to better facilitate young people to attend events and opportunities.
