The Goodman Foundation is currently constructing a one acre charity garden for FareShare, a Melbourne based Food Rescue organisation.
Fareshare has been the charity of choice of the Goodman Melbourne team for the past three years. Fareshare recently lost access to their market garden and have for some time been searching for a partner to help them bring fresh vegetables to the tables of their clients.
Through the volunteer programs of Fareshare, the Kitchen Garden will also provide an opportunity for the local community to participate in the garden maintenance. Volunteers are typically include school children and retirees.
This project is an example of the how we are able to enhance environments for the benefit of the local commuinities, through the provision of a beautiful and functional kitchen garden. Our deep relationships with organisations such as FareShare and OzHarvest provide an opportunity to optimise green spaces to bring fresh food to the tables of vulnerable communities.
