With three completed facilities at Oakdale Industrial Estate, DHL speculated the development of a fourth facility without a committed customer. This meant that the racking layout and office fitout needed to be generic and could not be tailored to a specific need.
During construction of the 31,745 sqm warehouse and office facility, DHL won a contract with a new customer who required the installation of an automated racking system. Goodman needed to integrate the requirements of the new system into the design well after the initial design phase had been completed. These changes included thickening of slabs, additional electrical services for future usage and modifications to fire services.
Goodman successfully delivered a fourth facility for DHL at Oakdale Industrial Estate, integrating the design of the automated racking system to ensure the most cost effective solution was achieved and no reworks required.
DHL have now completed four facilities within Oakdale Industrial Estate enhancing their ‘campus style’ approach to the estate.
